Scania has taken the lead in the journey towards a sustainable transport system. After the initial launches of our electrified trucks and buses, time has come to expand the electrification for a wider product range. The project has started and we need more colleagues to help us finish on time. The Purchasing team, Charging and ACE (Automous, Connected, Electrified) customer solutions, are looking for a new committed team member interested in business and new technologies within the Electrification area. We purchase charging components for electrified trucks and buses as well as customer solutions related to the vehicle business, e.g charging solutions. We are currently in an intensive period with a lot of new projects, many of them carried out together with our colleagues within the TRATON group. Responsibilities As a Purchaser in our team you will be responsible for optimisation of technology, quality, delivery and cost for components within new projects as well as for launched products. You take an active role in both pre-development as well as in industrialisation to find the best technical and commercial solution for Scania. Focus is on challenging and improve design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure implementation of your components in production while meeting the project targets. You lead the discussion with suppliers all the way from concept development until the start of production and also further on, through the component´s entire lifecycle. You play a key role in supplier scouting, request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis, nomination of suppliers as well as in implementation. This job gives a great opportunity to get in touch with new technology. While working in new projects you get also the opportunity to work cross functionally together with representatives from Quality, R&D, Production and After Sales among others. The team and me as manager Our team consists of four experienced professionals where there is a strong team spirit and a clear “can do” mindset, especially in tricky situations. I as a manager is engaging with a coaching leader style - I strive for all the team members to be independent in their work and to take many decisions themselves. You • You are an engineer or business graduate with at least 3 years’ experience from purchasing/sales or engineering working with supplier developed components. • You have a commercial and technical interest, are result oriented, have strong ability to take initiative, are able to handle multiple open cases and have the ability to look ahead and think strategically. • You are good at maintaining relationships and enjoy having many contacts, both internally and externally. • As the role involves a large international network and travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken English. Swedish is an advantage as well as other language skills. • Grit is a personal trait that is highly valued, despite obstacles ahead we see things through.
