We are an organization of approximately 700 employees, globally connected to deliver logistics solutions with world class operational excellence. We ensure that transportation is purchased, packaging is made available at our suppliers, material is transported to our production facilities, and vehicles are distributed to our customers on time. We design and optimize the Production Logistics supply chain for the Volvo Group, prepare logistics for new products and drive the Sales & Operations Planning process. The position Data Scientist reports to VP Strategy & Transformation, Production Logistics. Main responsibilities Apply a scientific mind-set and engineering skills in analyzing large volumes of complex data Secure technical infrastructure for the organization to increase the analytical capabilities, including extractions of relevant data Together with business representatives find and explore different use cases Build and execute analytical models to support the strategic, tactical, and operational part of the organization in proactive decision making based on internal and external data Explore and suggest areas to apply different types of analytics, machine learning, AI, data modeling, optimization, creating algorithms etc. Support the organization in competence development in the analytics domain You are heavily contributing to our journey to evolve analytics in the production supply chain context. As we aim to increase the data literacy in the full organization you would be an important ambassador of advanced analytics. Experience and Skills A degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or related area 4-5 years’ experience working with advanced analytics, complex systems and optimization Experience performing analysis with large datasets and deploying deploying analytics solutions in AZURE Relevant programming experience (e.g. Python, R, etc.) A background in logistics is a merit A creative problem-solver who is passionate about looking for new approaches to reach results A communicative person that values building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms Flexible mindset and a fast learner Experience from working in a global & cross functional environment Comfortable working on your own as well as collaborative in larger projects Proven strong independent drive and goal-orientation Fluent in English - both written and spoken If you feel that this is a position that matches your profile and that this is what you are looking for in your next challenge then we look forward to your application.
