This is us: Indirect Products and Services (IPS) is a global organization within GTP representing a yearly purchased spend of 43 BSEK. The team is responsible for Investments, IT, Professional Service & Travel, Product & Operation Services. Because we are ready for you. Development, Manufacturing & Logistic Solutions team is part of the IPS IT purchasing team. The team consists of six buyers, whereof five are located in Gothenburg and one in Lyon, highly professional and work autonomously within their different field of responsibilities. The purchasing areas that are covered by this team are business application that supports the development of the design of the trucks such as virtual simulation, electrical engineering, managing the full lifecycle of the products, CAD but also logistic activities and support systems for the production. In this position, you will report to the Vice President IPS IT Purchasing. The role description: As Manager of the Sub-Commodity Development, Manufacturing & Logistic Solutions, you are in the forefront of the journey aiming for high performance and finding opportunities through new technologies and digitalization. You drive and manage performance of your global team from QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, Technology, Sustainability and Risk) stand point and lead buyers with a global responsibility for a certain segment, manage supplier relationship, cross functional collaboration, contribute to supplier negotiation & be responsible to implement global segment strategies and common ways of working. You also promote and ensure a strong collaboration between Buyers within the IT Community globally thereby capitalizing on inputs towards segment strategies, negotiation tactics and leveraging other possible opportunities. Main Responsibilities Be a member of IPS IT Purchasing leadership team and in an active way contribute to the development of the department Lead a team of six Buyers and drive its competence development individually and collectively Drive department activities towards the wanted position Manage the overall supplier relationships and implement the global segment strategies Secure needed communication with cross functional teams Secure and manage resources within your area. Ensure effective performance management: set objectives, provide coaching and feedback and define individual development needs Responsible for budget & operating expenses Secure cost targets and KPI fulfillment Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values Manage cross functional interactions with internal stakeholders Who are you, our new colleague? Competence & Experience University degree in Engineering/Technology/ IT /or Business Administration Strong and inspiring Leadership skills Deep understanding of Purchasing Management experience in an international environment Experience in Software related business High level of integrity and trust Interested in future business trends and technology Ability to go from the holistic strategic view and into the details and be able to deal with complexity Ability to handle ambiguities and hold things together during tough times Ability to create networks and to lead cross-functional activities within multi-cultural teams Face problems and act quickly and directly.
